Jazz Fest 2025 lineup out (2 Viewers)

You know, I'm at the point now where I just cannot think of myself going to Jazz Fest.

Only one that could would be SRV, but I'mma have to wait til latet to see him again.

The last Jazzfest I went to before I moved to MD was in 1988....he had fairly recently gotten sober, he was outstanding, like mind blowing.....ugh, died way too soon.....

Goose!

Also recommend My Morning Jacket - they’re great at festivals. I also like HAIM, sister band from LA
Kudos on MMJ! I'd like to see Tab Benoit, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Walter Trout, and Samantha Fish.

And of course Pearl jam and Santana

Cheap Trick was my very first concert
Uriah Heap opened
if i'm old those dudes must have dust in their veins
I saw Cheap Trick in Baltimore c. 1980 with UFO. Of all the weird coincidences @Madmarsha was there as well.

UFO is criminally underrated as a rock band.

Pearl Jam and DMB are solid adds. Overall good lineup. Better Than Ezra is down there in the lineup as well.

Part of why I think Jazz Fest is great -

Last year my daughter went w/ BF and some friends to catch Greta Van Fleet. They posted up at 11 as close to stage as possible.

She comes home around 9pm says " Dad, have you ever heard of a band called Cowboy Mouth?" - well sure, why?

"They were ROCKIN.... i listened to Jenny Says like 4 times on way home"

So Better Than Ezra will probably have a 2-3pm time slot, but will get some new, younger listeners simply from performing in front of a range of ages.

Fun Fact: there is a "Fred Leblanc Clause" in the Jazz Fest contract that says performers are not allowed to climb scaffolding. LOL

She was the third of 3 WB girls I dated Sr year
There is no measure for how much I hated the CCC at that time

But get this - where does my son choice to pick his first gf? frikkin Mandeville

at least I didn’t have to pay to re-enter

Hammerjacks forever!

We actually hung out more in Fells Point when we were in Baltimore. John Stevens, Leadbetter's, The Horse

I hung out at Fells Point MUCH less than I wish I would have now. If I was headed south, I was headed to Hammerjacks, staying for last call, and then headed to the Inner Harbor (cos I had to leave, but I didn't have to go home!). Or headed for live music at clubs whose names I can't even remember.

Now? I don't really want to be anywhere I'm surrounded by more than, say, 30 people.

Michael Schenker is not as famous as his brother Rudolph (Scorpions) but he is way, way more advanced/dynamic a guitar player.....UFO with him was a really good band.....

Saw alot of bands there in the early 90's.....Matthew Sweet, Tool, Jeff Healey (criminally underrated), Marillion, Kings X, Crack the Sky, Jonny Winter, and of course.....KIX!!!!!
