That’s very debatable as to whether that was fortunate for us. I have to give AB credit for helping us win our first playoff game but after that he also kept us out of the playoffs in the following years with turnover after turnover including some backwards passes. I will never forget the year we only needed to win 1 game out of the last 3 and we were in the playoffs. Brooks was horrible down the stretch making mistake after mistake, turnover after turnover. Our backup was Jake Delhomme and our OC was Mike McCarthy. No matter how bad Brooks played he would not replace him. We miss the playoffs and the Saints let Delhomme go and a year later or so Delhomme takes Carolina to the Super Bowl. Such was life as a Saints fan.

That’s why I said “to some degree” … but while I liked Brooks the smile and the unexplainable plays eventually got to me. I made the comment because I wish Blake would have not gotten hurt because I think his mental was better.
