If the Saints trade for Watson, the Saints have to hold Watson's original cap number (something like $35 million) on the cap for 24 hours before any type of conversion into a signing bonus for cap purposes and to save Watson the minimum amount of money if he is suspended (i.e. he loses smaller game checks). This move with Jenkins could be a temporary way of accomplishing that.

Yeah, sure seems like Jenkins may be retiring. Mathieu would be a solid replacement.
