Joel Thomas is back as RB coach (13 Viewers)

Yep. They can block them or choose to let them happen. The Saints allowed Kubiak's offensive staff to take lateral moves.
"Thomas, 50, becomes the third running back coach in three years to leave Daboll’s staff voluntarily after only one season with the organization."

The Giants will be on their 4th RB coach in 4 years. I wonder what's up with that. I do think it's good business to let guys go if they don't want to be there but man that's a lot of turnover.

I think it is somewhat interesting and quaint how some seem so intent on deciphering what kind of offensive scheme Moore will run. Why do some seem keen on pigeon holing what he wants to do and be the first to get there?

I don't think Kellen Moore is going to be locked into a particular narrow vision of a scheme.

Don't get locked into preset notions as sports pundits seem to do. They're always playing catch up and live in the past because they have no imagination or creativity.

For all we know, he may break every mold tried before and develop an approach totally new. I believe he is that creative. In ten years, they may be calling his offense the Gulf Coast offense. I think we are in a new and exciting era of Saints history. Enjoy the ride folks.

Nobody is trying to pigeon hole Moore. We are just curious what kind of scheme he wants to run so we can have some fun speculating on what coaches and/or players might fit his scheme best. Yes, he has shown to adjust to the talent he has, but all coaches have a goal in mind for the type of offense they want to run and that is likely to be reflected in who they draft and any free agents they sign. If that's not fun for you then cool. But some of us do enjoy talking and thinking about it. And that's how we choose to enjoy the ride.

I truly doubt any RB coach hiring will have any bearing or hint towards what scheme is being run. He will be taught Kellen’s offense and coach it.

So happy for him. Spoke to him last year at Mardi Gras. He cried a lot of tears leaving. He didn’t want to go!

Yep. He’s a big parade guy. Used to see he and his family every year in the same spot when I rode in Endymion and Morpheus; he actually tossed me a beer a couple of times.

What if it is a new scheme? How would any of us know it. There in lies the issue. Some will start speculating that this or that player doesn't fit a perceived scheme and start complaining/whining even before the season has begun about how they don't like a certain choice. It just gets tiresome.

Then don't read it.

What do you want to talk about in the offseason? There really isn't much more to talk about than who will be on the staff and what players we will draft/sign and the only way to talk about that is to have some idea what the scheme will be.
