The ravens are a great team, but they won't be any stronger than last year, in my opinion. Their defense will probably miss A. Thomas and their offense really needs to put more points up. Obviously, they're a top 5 team, which very much puts them in the mix, but the competition is very, very stiff for them. I just don't see any real improvement from last year and it's always more attractive to pick a team that made some improvement than one that didn't. I'm not saying the Pats are destined to be the team, because in the post-season, it only takes one game to be knocked out of it. But Seeing as the Colts are still the Colts and the Chargers are still probably the most talented team, the Ravens would probably not be my pick.
I don't think they'll miss Thomas too much as they do have alot of other talent at LB. I do wonder when Ray Lewis's play will start slipping. True he's already not the player he was in his prime but he's still very good.
The Ravens probably will benefit by their division, which is hard to believe. I still don't buy the Stealer hype or the the Browns (ok there's no hype at al for them.) I do think the Bengals could be good but still have alot of behavioral issues.
Actually I think the Colts and pats are looking pretty good in their divisions too. I think by far the hardest division is the AFC west (although the Raiders are the Raiders.)
Edit: Ok maybe the AFC wests isn't by far the hardest division but I do think it's the hardest.
