just bought lindys annual preview!! (1 Viewer)

The ravens are a great team, but they won't be any stronger than last year, in my opinion. Their defense will probably miss A. Thomas and their offense really needs to put more points up. Obviously, they're a top 5 team, which very much puts them in the mix, but the competition is very, very stiff for them. I just don't see any real improvement from last year and it's always more attractive to pick a team that made some improvement than one that didn't. I'm not saying the Pats are destined to be the team, because in the post-season, it only takes one game to be knocked out of it. But Seeing as the Colts are still the Colts and the Chargers are still probably the most talented team, the Ravens would probably not be my pick.

I don't think they'll miss Thomas too much as they do have alot of other talent at LB. I do wonder when Ray Lewis's play will start slipping. True he's already not the player he was in his prime but he's still very good.

The Ravens probably will benefit by their division, which is hard to believe. I still don't buy the Stealer hype or the the Browns (ok there's no hype at al for them.) I do think the Bengals could be good but still have alot of behavioral issues.

Actually I think the Colts and pats are looking pretty good in their divisions too. I think by far the hardest division is the AFC west (although the Raiders are the Raiders.)

Edit: Ok maybe the AFC wests isn't by far the hardest division but I do think it's the hardest.

I got it too.It lists Karney as the #2 fullback in the NFL behind Neal.Brees is #4 behind Carson Palmer,I dont understand that.Moss is listed as the top #1 receiver with Colston being 6th.How can you call Moss the best when he hasnt proven anything in years?

It seems that lots of people(Writers, magazines, etc) are seriously looking at the Saints as legitimate candidates for the SB. What a sweet time for Saints fans.

Thinking of getting either

PFW
Lindy's
Athlons

anyone with these magazines, can you tell me which one has the best player evaluations? does any of these magazines talk about what schemes the teams will be implementing?

McNair is washed up, but McGahee could add quite a bit to their offense being that he is way better than J. Lewis IMHO. They will be solid on D, but if McNair gets hurt, who do they turn to? Troy Smith? I'm a Boller fan, but that organization has pretty much thrown him under the bus so he's not getting the attention he needs from the coaches.

McNair isn't washed up. He may be the toughest QB in the league, but he can't carry the O. Balt fans are aware of the lack of running game, and I've seen some questioning the OL.

Boller had every opportunity to claim that job. Giving up on a player doesn't always mean he was thrown under the bus. I think Carr would've been a good move for Balt, but we'll see how Smith pans out. He may have some Garcia in him.

BTW, I think the Pats are gonna romp to the big show. Yet again...

How can Colston be listed 6th, after his first season? heh I think they accounted for no WR doing much in OAK, and Moss going off to play with Brady. He's still Moss, whatever that means. Moss is very high on my FF big board.

They probably gave Colston credit for losing games to injury last year, and becoming Brees' favored target. Honestly, I think we have too many weapons for anyone to put up huge numbers. YAC could be a big factor for some, but our new TE may further dilute the numbers of others.

Out of these 3, PFW has a great section on the top 20-25 players at each position, and they have stats coming out the you know what. This is the first year I've got this one. Sporting news would be the next best I would say. I don't know of any that talk about schemes, though.

what is better football preview, Lindy's or Althon?

I like the way that Lindy's is organized with comments that go deeper into each teams players/roster.

Athlons was out the same time I picked up Lindy's here.

cause he has Tom throwing him the rock. I really expect NE in the superbowl. It will be a tough game for us.

Palmer will be fully recovered this season, and Cinn's OL is suspect. He's more physically gifted than Brees, but I personally have Brees rated 3rd. (I know..."Intangibles" is getting played out in here.) Palmer 5th. Doesn't matter, though.
