Kellen Moore expected to be Saints coach (42 Viewers)

He’s done an awesome job,” Moore said. “I mean, they’ve had double digit wins the last two years to turn that thing around. Play at a really high level on offense. I know he’s going to have a lot of really good opportunities, you know, very shortly for himself.”

Very shortly may not be tongue-in-cheek. Kellen Moore is expected to become the Saints’ head coach very soon after the Super Bowl is wrapped up in New Orleans this weekend.

So Doug Nussiemer as offensive coordinator and Kirby Moore as passing game coordinator?

Interesting. How many times has a HC employed a relative on other teams? Is it weird? Kirby is making $1.5 mil as OC at Mizzou. Do OCs really make that much?

Kirby was also the OC @ Fresno St when Haener was there

If in your eyes, 16 seasons of unprecedented success, offensive records broken, countless hours devoted and a Super Bowl victory makes a guy a quitter when he decides he's done, then I would have to agree---------you are very confused
I really think it does a disservice to Payton’s tenure here.
There’s about 22 teams that haven’t had a coach reach 16 seasons with one franchise.
And even during Payton’s press tour this week, he’s been nothing but complementary of the city.

That might make things interesting if he's the Saints OC.
PFA (Poking Fun Alert)

A lot of fans assume that Moore was concerned with the QB room, except for Rattler. Shortly after those alleged concerns were "reported," it was "reported" that the Saints executives allegedly love Rattler.

A lot of fans through the years have insisted that when the organization talks up a player, it's to increase their trade value.

Will a lot of fans instantly go from liking Moore as the coach to hating him, if Moore likes Haener more than Rattler? Will a lot of fans deepen their contempt for the Saints if they demote, trade or release Rattler?

My money is on the answer to both questions being absolutely yes.

OK nowhere that I could find did Moore say " He didn't like the QB room"
Russini said and later clarified that "If there was a reason that KM didn't take the job, it COULD be that he didn't like the QB room"
Also no mention of the " Except for Rattler " comment could I find.

If you can point me to where Moore said OR anyone has a rumor that the except for Rattler comment was made I'd appreciate it

We're gonna have a new coaching staff, offense, defense, team identity, etc. It really doesn't matter who the QB is if Moore gets his guy to build around.

Moore has never had a rookie or even a 2nd yr QB , He has worked with different types of QBs. Dak was mobile early in his career and not so later but more a pocket guy. Herbert slightly mobile but still a pocket guy. Hurts very mobile and runs way more than any other one KM has worked with

Check out what Nick says starting @ the 1:40 mark

I'd love to know why he took the year off in the first place. There's been enough from the media to know that he wanted to come back but the Saints didn't want to do DA dirty.

He misses home. He doesn't like to see what he built get this low.
Yeah, Payton is very prideful. We were a totally different team and they always played hard no matter what…

Man if that turns out to be true....then they are dumber than I thought. Letting SP go so you don't disrespect Dennis frickin Allen? That is truly wild.

I wasn't clear. I'm saying that a lot of fans interpreted the vague reports as Moore likes Rattler, but not Carr or Haener. I'm not saying that was what was actually in any report.

As you see for yourself, there is nothing reported that actually indicates Moore likes Rattler, but doesn't like Carr or Haener. A lot of fans are wish casting and wish rationalizing their wanting Rattler to be the starter no matter what.

So you'll be cool with Moore if Rattler isn't his guy and he chooses to build around Carr for the short term and someone else long term?

In his final press conference, Sean Payton himself said that he thought about just taking a year off, but that wouldn't be fair to Dennis Allen. He didn't say the next coach, he said Dennis Allen. That seemed like a tell that Allen would be the next coach before the coach search even began. It also indicates that Payton also didn't want to do Allen dirty, so he probably didn't try to come back after his year off like the whispered rumors say he did.
