Don't you think that Williams will be the lead back when Kamara is out? It's not like dude didn't have over 1000 yards and 17 TDs just last year, right?
The rookie is lagniappe. Kamara is 1, Williams is 1A.

If/when Kirk Merritt is left off of the final 53 man roster… Does Kendre take #33???
No lie, WITH Kamara. rookie Kendre Miller WAS lagniappe. But WITHOUT Kamara for the first 3 games, Miller WILL now be counted on more heavily to be our “RB2” behind Jamaal Williams.

I think that would be Eno Benjamin… possibly Taysom, a combination of those 2… or a RB that’s not on the roster yet.
I like Merritt, but he’s still learning the transition from WR to RB, and he has very little real game experience in the NFL

IIRC, with respect to Saints' veterans developing rookies and younger RB's, Ricky Williams is the only one who had sour grapes and didn't go out of his way. He didn't put much effort into developing Dulymus ("Deuce") McAllister.
Looking back at RW with his now well known/documented MH issues, I'm not sure I'll hold it against him for not mentoring Deuce.

I think Jamaal will get most of the carries but he can't take them all.
And having Miller ready to handle a full load should Williams go down - God forbid - is a necessity at this point since Eno may be out for the season

Damn! We just cannot catch a break. Note that Benjamin was fine when I posted that post. The rookie is absolutely no longer lagniappe.

WWL’s Deuce said he likes what he’s seen so far from Kendre, but like all rooks he needs more work.
Although he’s shown the ability to catch the ball, Deuce said he needs to do a better job with his route running, esp in and out of his routes/cuts to get separation n become a more viable target for the QB.
He added that like all rookies ( n IMO, even some new vets), it’s gonna be VERY important for Miller to learn n grasp the playbook ASAP. And now, that’s even more so the case cause Eno is probably out for the season! Moreover, with DC4 at QB, Pete’s probably now gonna start calling TWO plays more often to the huddle. So Millers gonna have to quickly digest those 2 plays, know his responsibilities in each one, n carry em out effectively! I hope he can!
But Deuce concluded that, as a runner, Miller looks like the Real Deal!!! He n lotsa others saw this one run play that was designed to go to the right. Miller took the handoff, started right, but did a helluva “jump cut” thru the backside A gap for a big play!
So make no mistake, the talent IS there! But Millers now gonna have to “ramp it up”….
