Kentucky Derby 2024 (2 Viewers)

It was such a rush!
I dunno when I first contracted horse fever, but I remember seeing a horse run free after escaping from his stall when I was about five years old thinking that was the most glorious thing I had ever seen. I still feel that euphoric rush watching horses run and drive my husband nuts horse clucking trying to encourage my favorite.

I have been once - in college, in 1994. The 120th running . . . 30 years ago.

Note that the track was sloppy because it rained all morning. It stopped around 4pm and the weather wasn’t too bad for the race but the grounds were slop.

We were in the infield and because it was raining, we just stayed in the car and got trashed. Passed out. Rallied when the skies cleared up and I was up and about for the derby. Couldn’t see sheet but it was cool to be there - great energy in the infield leading up to the race and when the horses went thundering by.

Is this a money laundering operation?

Who pays $2,300,000+ for a horse that is one of twenty that has a chance to win $5,000,000?
Good question cos that is nuts. And it's not $5,000,000. The total purse is 5. The win is $3.2 I think.
