This guy names keeps popping up on Draft Sites and by buys like Mel Kiper (just lost my credibility) but he seems to be climbing the draft boards and after Dorsey and Ellis he could be the next DT taken, dont know if he is worthy of a top 10 selection, but thats not for us to decide, but I think all is not lost if we dont get Dorsey or Ellis cause guys like Balmer and now Dre Moore are making names for themselves.

The North squad is where the New Orleans Saints need to be looking to improve defensively. I was most impressed with North Carolina defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer. The 6-foot-5, 282-pounder is rock solid and could be moving up the draft board. But no one will get a glimpse of Balmer the rest of the week as a hamstring injury will force him out of practice the rest of the week, including Saturday's game.

The Saints would be stupid to pick Balmer at 10 he is a late 1st round pick right now that only turned it on in his senior season. The Saints would be better off trading up and getting Ellis then taking Balmer anywhere before 20.

the draft is about how you perform infront of scouts, thats why guys shoot up rounds after workouts, players are picked on potential, which is why a guy like Balmer could go from unknown to top ten pick....nobody really knew about Demarcus Ware until late in the season and after the senior bowl, scouts, coaches and nfl experts did, but fans didnt, so if the Saints or any team picks this guy in the first round its because they feel he has potential and impressed the nfl heads, cant hate on him for that.

[FONT=Verdana,Geneva,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif][SIZE=-2]01/22/08 - Senior Bowl Tuesday North Team Practice: A hamstring injury suffered by North Carolina's Kentwan Balmer left this a drastically reduced position. The opinion of many scouts in attendance was that Balmer was the most intriguing prospect on the field yesterday. Not only did he impress with his 26 pound weight change (listed by UNC at 282, but measured here at 308), he looked solid at this weight. Yesterday, he was impressive, showing good burst off the snap, lateral agility, and strength at the point of attack. Unfortunately, towards the end of Monday's practice, Balmer pulled his hamstring and will not play the rest of the week.
