N/S Kirk Cousins reportedly says he wants out of Atlanta (17 Viewers)

Ohhh boo hoo, he signed a huge contract last season and now wants out? These players are absurd in their demands, he took the money he needs to ride out what the team says until his 90 million guaranteed is exhausted, then start complaining about wanting out.

No instead he wants to be cut after 1 season where he played like arse, collect the 90 million and still go sign elsewhere for more money

Think it’s more about playing time than financials for him. Whether it was deserved or not, you’d have to imagine that a competitor like him believes he kind of got a bit of a raw deal there.

He never would have signed there if he knew a first round QB was a possibility; that was a completely odd and peculiar move that no one saw coming.

It is about playing time, but I can guarantee you he won’t be willing to give up any of his guaranteed money of they tell him they’ll cut him.

Also, he could’ve tried playing better than a below average QB last season if he wanted to keep the starting spot

True, but I think it was a wise move for Morris going into his second stint of being an HC. Similar to the discussions about the benefit of Moore rolling with Carr, a vet gives you stability as you try to win in your first year. The main criticism of Kirk before the injury was that he was a solid regular-season guy but struggled in the playoffs. Taking Penix was a move for the future, but when Kirk started struggling, they had to pull the trigger.
I like the idea of taking a guy you like high, even if you have a vet starter. We'll see how this turns out.
Too many GMs are afraid to put the teams' interest ahead of one player:)

This why I say you are still in the market for a QB in this draft. Rattler was just ok, too many batted balls at LOS and he's not growing any taller. Maybe he can be a tick better with better playmakers but he's not a sure shot. I say try grabbing a QB every draft until you find one. Having Carr as the starter for 2025 is ideal for that to have a young QB sit and learn.
