This sounds exactly like what the Saints attempted back in 2005....strip down Mike McCarthy's Westcoast Offense playbook down to only a few pages, control the game with time of possession and hit play action passes. Only problem is that the defense wasn't strong enough to hold on to any kind of lead.

I’m convinced Saints would trade Alvin or Latt for good draft picks in a heartbeat if the cap hit for each wasn’t so bad. I think Latt could get a 1 and Alvin a 3.
