Kurt Warner thinks Jameis is better than any QB in the draft. (1 Viewer)

No shirt Kurt. None of those guys have played in the NFL yet. The question with draft picks at QB isn’t what they are…. It’s what can they be once they acclimate to the NFL game?

Mahommes wasn’t better than Alex Smith…. Until he was. Brees wasn’t better than Flutie…. Until he was. Rodgers wasn’t better than Farve…. Until he was.

Now that we got that out the way...i think we all can come to some sort of consensus that each of the top 8 WRs in this draft are better than any receiver we fielded last season. So...........

Let's draft a tackle
I think I'll be disappointed if a Saints draft goes exactly like we expected. Lol

I think what Kurt is saying is that none of the QBs in the draft have that "Wow" factor and can give you more than what Jameis will give.
With that being said Kurt has always shown the Saints love. Even when he was with the Rams, and especially when we knocked him out of the playoffs for the Superbowl year.

I took it as Warner saying he's not high on the potential for any of these guys to ever be much better than where Jameis is at currently, not just that Jameis is currently better than them.

I don't think any of these guys are particularly comparable to the prospect that Mahomes was and also Alex Smith was pretty much tapped out on his potential at that point and I would argue there's still some potential to see a better version of Jameis than we've seen previously.

We have talked about this already. If you have made up your mind that Jameis is not the long-term answer, you see hope in 2-3 guys in this draft. If you think Jameis potentially could be the answer, why waste a 1st round pick on a guy who will not beat out Jameis in the next couple of years.

It's one person's opinion... nothing more, nothing less. He may be right, but he could also be wrong. Three or four years from now, few, if any, will remember his opinion. I certainly won't.

At this point the Saints need to build back up their line, get a WR to compliment MT, and prob grab a running back or TE if they are available. Roll with Jameis this year at this contract, and if he is not the guy we are in the same boat next year but with a better surrounding cast...then we can see if better QBs are available in the draft. If Jameis IS the guy then the Saints are back in the driver's seat again and can sign the man long term next year.
