N/S Lattimore vs AJ Brown (10 Viewers)

Lattimore is playing a step behind instead of the step ahead that made him great here. Maybe it is the system and his lack of familiarity/confidence with it. Maybe he is just past his prime and the injured groin has accumulated enough damage to make him look slow and out of place.

I’m a big Lat fan but right now I feel like I need to apologize to Washington fans for his play. Sigh

Yup, a likely combo of age and body breaking down, he is clearly not the same player he was a few years ago.....too bad, I was hoping he could help them in the playoffs....

How so? Most here are calling for Loomis's head right now, but he clearly made the right call dumping Lattimore. So I'm not sure why the analogy is so bad.
If the hands fell off the clock, resulting in its “breakage”, it can neither be wrong nor right. It can only display numerals (unless those fell off too).

Lattimore is still the best CB on the Wash roster. Is he worth 18M/yr plus a 3rd and 4th? TBD next season, but I still think it was a fair value trade for both parties.

It was a good decision to move him and get something for him while they could, he's not the same player he was his first five years in the league. He's not that old, but the hamstring and groin injuries seem to have eroded his skills.

And his self-control.

The thing about Latt was that he always ran hot and cold. Honestly I've never seen anything like it when it comes to a "Lockdown Cover Corner". He would totally erase a WR like Mike Evans but then you'd see him trying to cover a guy like Calvin Ridley and he looked out of his element. Obviously all Corners get beat and that's especially true in the modern game but if you watched Latt's career then you know exactly what I'm talking about. You could tell early on what kind of game he was going to have based on his body language.

So it's no surprise to see him looking bad as the injuries have added up. At one time Latt could make up for being out of position because he was so good at closing and making a play on the ball. His timing was impeccable when he was on. But for whatever reason he was off a good bit. They say great Corners have a short memory. Seemed like Latt couldn't forget anything. Carried it with him the rest of the game. Good or bad.

Seemed like he always struggled more on the smaller shifty WRs like Olave, Jefferson, Ridley and did better on bigger WRs that are more physical like Evans, AJ or MT. Evans and AJ just roasted him past 2 games though.
