Let Carr get the Offense to the red zone and then let Taysom / Ak finish the job (1 Viewer)

How many two QB systems won a Super Bowl? How about a playoff game?
Im not defending the OP idea, but who has ever had a Taysom Hill?

Nobody.

Very small sample size with Taysom and our few playoff games, and I agree a full on two QB system wont work in the NFL, but the way we do it with Taysom has proven to win when we do it right.

Both are Band-Aids

Though, I like Taysom in the Red Zone Offense.

I can't help but to think the future star QB for the Saints isn't on the Saints yet.

Am I the only one who feels that way?

Seems to be a smart blue print. If Carr isn’t great down there. Let Taysom and AK finish the job. Carr can work from 20 to 15 and Taysom and AK will finish the job behind the help of Big Khalen Saunders of course.
You do realize that it's not all the QB that determines RZ efficiency. It's execution by the OL, WR's and RB's , play calling. . For instance, 1st and goal from the 5, 3 running plays are called and you wind up at the 1 if you kick the FG how is that the QB's fault? . Is it the OL's fault? The RB's fault ? Or maybe playcalling?

i'm all for anything that results in 6, but won't defenses adjust in the playoffs in the redzone and learn to stop the Taysom/AK approach that i think is more one-dimensional (for the most part) than if Carr is in there? maybe the Taysom / AK is more versatile than i realize.

Yea I heard that too, that was interesting and it makes sense. Prior to carr getting here we didn’t have redzone issues. This can work in a couple ways. It’ll make Carr want to throw dimes so he doesn’t have to give up the rock in the redzone. It’s also humbling to Carr, in a good way, and it spreads out the responsibility of scoring in the redzone on the entire offense and not just a Qb. It also tells me that they want to win in any way they can, and won’t let a Qb ego ruin things. Not saying Carr has a negative ego, but most QBs would feel humbled losing the keys. I don’t know if there’s any elite QBs that would willfully give up the rock in the redzone.

I think the idea is that while we might run the ball 80% of the time, that 20% chance of a pass keeps them at least a little honest. I confess though that I haven’t seen much of us using Taysom’s arm in the red zone and I’m not sure I’d want him to, outside of simple bootleg concepts. Turning the ball over gets a lot easier in a short field situation.

I’ve been calling for that for the past 3 games, I’m just glad they are doing it more.
