On offense we MUST have a chain mover in the passing game. Whether that be move TE or WR, we need to have one so that Drew has viable options on 3rd down other than just MT or AK. Take those two guys away on 3rd down and our odds drop drastically of converting. We really miss guys like Snead & Lance Moore, Jimmy & 2015 Watson. Meredith was supposed to be that guy, but still hasn't been able to get past his injury and possibly never will. Kirkwood showed some promise, but I get the feeling he doesn't have Payton/Brees' confidence yet. Dan Arnold I don't have a lot of confidence in either. He's still developing at the position and doesn't play strong enough off the line & in traffic. He still plays like a WR in a TE's body. I hope that some of those guys can further develop, but banking on that is not a risk worth taking when you're talking about two positions that both could use an upgrade.

I've listed a few TE targets like Kroft(Mayok was high on him, he could end up with the Raiders) who would be a nice addition, but the more I read up on Jesse James I believe he should be the target. The team has evolved to the point where it can compete/win shootouts or play ball control/smashmouth rushing attack and stingy defense. James can be the blocker/receiver complete TE that enhances the offense.

And when you look at him on tape, he’s every bit as freaky as how they all describe him. He has blazing speed for a man his size so he will get down the field to make big plays. He also has great hands, runs good routes and when running after the catch, he’s a man playing with boys as it often requires at least four to tackle him.

Speaking of man playing with boys, it’s the same deal when he’s blocking as he controls his man, driving him back. I know it’s risky to compare him to players that are already established in the NFL but Rob Grokowski comes to mind. Galt takes it even further when comparing James to the best tight ends in the NFL.

Man I really need to see whats going on in training camp.

If we get Cam Meredith, with Burgess Meredith's knee then we are in trouble.

Jared Cook might be pricey, but would kill in this offense.

Is Marcus Williams not that good or is he just being put in difficult positions? Seems always late to the call. We haven’t had a ball hawking safety since sharper. I’d go for tyrann or earl thomas
