Verified Likely That Pelicans Will Defer Lakers Swap Until 2025 (now official) (2 Viewers)

I just don't think Edey is the disaster some are painting him to be. We would not be in good shape if a center we draft this year is our starter (out of the 2 or 3 it would be possible for us to get including Ware) IMO which means we have to get one thru trade or FA

I think Edey's floor is a good bench center and matchup specialist which would not be a bad thing at 21 in a weak draft
His metrics at the work outs are good, but his film just seems so slow footed. The biggest death sentence in the NBA is having no 1st step. He would get eaten alive by the pick and roll at NBA speed

He beat Clingan in the 3/4 sprint and the cones plus he hit six 3s in a row at the combine. I think Edey is better than a lot of people believe

I'm not a Clingan fan at all. I'm pretty much Ware or bust. I want the player with highest ceiling as possible with a Myles Garrett comp

No doubt I would prefer Ware...its just a question of how much we would need to give up to move up in the draft. Missi is also projected to have a high ceiling but yeah Ware is definitely the best choice IMO
Future second rounders may have a bit more value in this draft due to how weak it is supposed to be

The think with Ware is whether he is another Lively or another Hayes. He tends to be lazy at times. However, anyone at 21 is a risk.
I think Ware is miles ahead of Hayes even in at Oregon.

Agreed on that.

I've been looking into Missi and the more I read, the more I like him. He is a bit raw still, but he is much more NBA ready than Hayes was IMO. He is insanely athletic for his size, already does a good job defending pick and roll (which is no small thing for a 7 footer), but what I like most of all is the description of his motor and drive which made me think of Herb Jones. That kind of hunger is good for a player and for a team

I honestly don't have a problem with drafting either. I like them both. Missi has a more consistent shooting form.

I saw that man screen and knew Pelicans already love him. Not a fan of your best skill trait be setting screens. Got a smooth shooting motion, I suppose..

We need some semblance of offensive talent tho. You can build around one dimensional players anymore unless you only aspire to be a play in team.

The notion you can build offense on a defensive player needs to go both ways for Offensive players becoming good defenders..
