LSU has me ready for the Saints season (1 Viewer)

They are shelling out $9 million per year to BK. The money is there and the talent is there. Kelly just isn't a particularly good coach.
Go do research and see how much Georgia, Texas, TAMU, Bama, etc are spending and get back to me

It's usually a bit more, but it varies year to year. Regardless, those teams can only get so many players and it's not like they only recruit LA. And short term money isn't everything to every college player.

There is still plenty enough talent for this to be a much better team in Kelly's third year. He's a mediocre coach doing a mediocre job and getting paid like an elite coach. That's just not good enough.

Old man yelling at the sky here but it feels just like the NFL now. The highest bidder etc.

No school pride and such, I’m bummed about that but certainly understand why NIL is here.

Short term money is what matters most to 95% of the high level recruits these days. I follow recruiting way too closely. It’s not what you think it is. It’s called the Wild West for a reason. Look a Dabo. Dude refuses to engulf himself fully with NIL. Now he’s getting embarrassed

Does it feel just like the NFL to you now? Like mercenaries? Maybe it’s just me, I’m an old man and miss the old days of football.

As an aside I’m terrible at recruiting on NCAA25 lol.

To some extent sure. But even without putting out the top NIL money, and it's not like LSU doesn't produce good NIL money, you can still land a recruiting class between 5 and 15 which is good enough to be a top level program is you have great coaching.

If it was all about money then Jimbo Fisher would still have his job at A&M. They went all out for a few years and Jimbo still failed.

It’s most definitely a “Pro game” being played in a college atmosphere. I side with players, but there was no structure rolled out for NIL. It’s a monster that can’t be put back into the closet. A high ranked recruit gets a sizable NIL deal, doesn’t get a starting spot, he leaves for another team. Loyalty is almost all gone. There was a problem with the term commitment before, but now, that term should be thrown out the window bc you have no idea. These kids are using every angle imaginable to get $$$. Ridiculous

I side with them too, just sad imo. College ball used to hit different.

BK's issue is that he still coaches like he is at Notre Dame.
You don't have to be ultra-conservative with LSU's personnel.

It's the fault of the colleges and the NCAA for not allowing these kids to get any money to at least be able to live a decent life before NIL. Had they allowed things like stipends for food money and living expenses, we would not be in this situation.
