Don't mean to jump ahead you guys but I was just looking at yalls schedule and that seems to be the toughest game on there. I was wondering if you guys think yall can stop Tim Tebow? That little fake towards the line and then drop back to pass has been working like a charm. Seems like it freezes up the safities everytime and leaves somebody wide open. How do you stop that?

Yeah it looks tough, but I think LSU can pull it off. I think it will be close though. Sat. night in Death Valley is gonna play a big factor in this game, no matter what anyone says. As long as it stays a night game and nobody goes and screws with the time.

We'll see. I think if any defense can stop it this season it's LSU's, especially in Tiger Stadium (it's going to be deafening for that one). I think the problem with Florida is their defense; they only return 1 starter from last season.

I agree joe I think LSU's D can stop any offense this year, I don't know if I've ever seen a D that good and I've been watching football for a long time.

Steve, it's going to be a great game.

I do think LSU can pull off a win though.

IMO, the difference between this D and in 2003 is we have 2 REALLY good LB's. We had solid one's in 2003, but this unit's got much more speed and IMO Highsmith and Beckwith will each be first day picks.

Pretty crazy when DT's like Marlon Favorite and Al Woods are backups.

Really looking forward to the game though. Hopefully I can score some tickets.

Funny you mention Favorite and Woods because I was just sitting here thinking yalls 2nd and 3rd string D is about as good or even better than a lot of starting D's. It's crazy.

I had to quote you Steve(see bolded part) :hihi:

I know you're not a big fan of LSU, but at least you keep it honest. :ezbill:

This would be another great game to attend.
(though if it's a night one, may be a little tough for us "older" folks, lol)

My crew here that went to the game last weekend didn't make it home until 3am. :covri:

My kid had a blast though.

I try not to be a complete homer. If a team is good I'll say their good.

A lot of our 2nd stringer would start elsewhere, but most of these guys will be on next year's starting D anyway.

The depth at WR is pretty nice too. Jared Mitchell, Demetrius Byrd, and Terrance Tolliver all looked really good Saturday.

I think you do it by putting a spy on him at times and also similar to how you attack the option(some of the spread uses a lot of misdirection and option like play actions and plays) in that you make your guys commit to Tebow and make sure you take him out, don't hesistate, someone goes after him and another the RB and everyone stick to their assignments, they'll certainly be a lot one on one matchups in the open field but I feel good about our guys that we have out there that they can make the plays they need to make.

I remember last year's game started out VERY well for LSU, people don't remember but we went up and down the field on Florida and was up 7-0 an on the half inch yard line when Russell fumbled, then they took it down the field 99 yards and the momentum just swung, then out guys just fell apart in the second half, it was crazy..

I think this year our guys are ready and have a statement to make, they remember that game last year and will come ready to get in that @#$...:9:

Plus it's at home which can be a factor in college...

You play him just like every other QB that LSU has faced so far: You hit him every time he takes the ball. Thankfully, LSU's starting defenders have a boatload of recovery speed. We'll see what Pelini does with it this year.

Of course of LSU gives Florida five fumbles again, I expect a similar outcome.

Beware the jump pass. :hihi:
