Pete is getting up there in age and it sounds like he was contemplating retirement. He wasn’t fired or moved for team performance.

Lots of people are scratching their heads about vrabel being fired. Many people are saying the Titans made a mistake. That being said his record is 54-45 overall as a head coach and 13-21 over the last two years. Let that sink in. His record the last two years is worst than DA but most people in the media think it was mistake to fire him.

Now let’s talk about DA. Should have won the division this year but didn’t. That’s enough to fire him in my opinion but we aren’t so let’s look at why. 16-18 in his two years here. Not good but it’s not the worst in the league as some like to say. Hell it’s better than Vrabel as I just pointed out. There’s multiple HC in the league who’s team has a worst record this year and didn’t get fired so it’s not like this is some absolute unbelievable unheard keeping of the worst coach in the history of the league… again as it’s portrayed on this board. There was an improvement in wins and the offense looked better than last year. Last 6 games we 4-2 and one of the top offenses. I’m absolutely fine with him being fired and thought he should be since we didn’t win the division but can also see why they brought back for another year. It’s not biggest coaching blunder/mistake that some like to pretend it is.

Pete Carroll 170-120-1 - OUT

Mike Vrabel 85-78 - OUT

Dennis Allen 24-46 - Job SECURE

I double down on the statement - The New Orleans Saints are not serious about winning.
Well, there’s a slew of teams that fire coaches every 3 years and NEVER get better. Firing Carroll is like firing Payton back in 2014. They will regret it. Same for Vrabel.

When you factor in the Saints played the easiest schedule in the entire league and didn't face a top 15 QB all year, defending the Saints management for keeping a coach that has underachieved two years in a row is perplexing. That's why it's easy to come to the conclusion the Saints are not serious about winning. It's really a shame, because fans will stay home and the dome will be empty.....nobody wants that.

Pete Carroll has not improved the Seahawks.Seattle has not had a double digit win season since 2020. Vrabel has had two losing seasons now and has to deal with three better teams who all have fresh QBs.

If we fired DA and brought in Mike Vrabel I think most Saints fans would be happy with that, rightly or wrongly such is the difference in perception of both as Coaches. If the Titans turned around and hired DA after that, I don't think most Titans fans would be happy with that at all. For me though, the Titans big mistake was assuming Treylon Burks would be the next AJ Brown and it just hasn't happened. I'm not sure how much input Vrabel had on that decision but whoever made it changed their offense in a way they have yet to recover from.

Carroll was moved in the front office so it's not really a firing. DA luckily hasn't done anything to warrant ever being moved into our FO. A proper comparison to the Carroll situation would be if we had offered Payton a job in the FO when he decided to "retire" and he accepted it. I'm not sure how that would've turned out, nor do I know how this will turn out for Seattle but it's not really the same thing as firing the guy anymore than we fired Payton. The main difference is one guy still wanted to be part of their organization, the other wanted a change of scenery and got it.

It's another gamble from the FO that certainly makes sense on paper, much like grabbing what was thought of as the top QB in the market in 2023 and keeping the coaching staff for another run. But given the level of competition in the past 6 matches, the best thing you could say about that run is that the team finally started winning the games they were supposed to win... they still lost to the better teams in the schedule.

Some people are saying the team is not managing the team to win games... I would say now they are being TOO conservative.

My opinion, Loomis is the type of guy that refuses to admit when he’s wrong.

He’s gonna destroy this team and tear the fan base apart by trading all our favorite players in an effort to protect his ego and avoid admitting DA was a mistake.

Pete is not getting fired and moving to a consultant position.

Vrabel is a bit different. I believe I heard on XM NFL the other day they wanted to g a different direction having a promising new QB.

DA IDK, at this point with all these openings and the situation with the cap Who knows what kind of quality coach we could get. Not saying that is Mickey's plan.

I don’t think Vrabel was very disappointed with the news.

Pete will be 73 by the start of next season though and has been there forever, I can see the team wanting to move in a different direction.

The Titans however I think will regret it.
