Manti Te'o has a netflix special coming out (1 Viewer)

I'll never understand why this was such a big story. All I can gather is that he thought he had a girlfriend, but didn't. Okaaay.

And why is that fascinating?

Sometimes I wonder if the part of my brain that's supposed to find things like this interesting/amusing - is dormant or missing.

I agree that he was a solid player for us (and I can't remember why we let him go).

This is something if i were Teo i would never want brought up again. Dont see how it does anyone any good. Im sure hes married and has a family now.

Dude was a walking talking meme back in the day, if this happened now he would be infamous.

Lionel the Janitor... starring Sean Payton.

I would agree with you with this in 99.9 percent of these situations but this one was beyond unique. These are my examples off why it was so crazy off the top of my head as I’ve honestly not read or watched anything ever since.

1. Involved arguably the biggest name brand in college football in Notre Dame which I hate with a passion.
2. Was the first season they were in title contention in almost 20 years or so and under now Current Lsu coach Brian Kelly.
3. Involved the team captain and rare defensive Heisman finalist for the Irish which had a magical season until Bama went in dry in the Natty.
4. I remember the focus mainly being on him cause of this story instead of the game itself due to the medias persistence to bring it up a million times in the month between instead of the teams involved. I know it’s a real shocker to some people for the media to blow up something.
The media also had people convinced he was part of the hoax and when they found out it was actually a man many people believed Teo was gay. It was a classic 💩 show
