Didn’t watch the show one bit and don’t plan to. Like I stated I was just remembering the time and the comments were based off the top of my head. It’s not like there’s anything to spoil. The damn preview they have on this page states the hoax and common knowledge to anyone as it was all over tv not even a decade ago

I dunno, I think even in this day and age, you should not refer to anyone as your boyfriend or girlfriend unless you've actually met them in the flesh and also, oh, say, made some sort of sexual contact like kissing or even just hand holding. I'm so old fashioned.

I'll never understand why this was such a big story. All I can gather is that he thought he had a girlfriend, but didn't. Okaaay.

And why is that fascinating?

Sometimes I wonder if the part of my brain that's supposed to find things like this interesting/amusing - is dormant or missing.

I agree that he was a solid player for us (and I can't remember why we let him go).

I mean, it was a major storyline in a Heisman campaign, and a nationally reported death of a made up person.

It was definitely a worthy sports/journalism story.
