Marine flyover rehearsal for Super Bowl LIX New Orleans (1 Viewer)

Ospreys are no more unsafe than any other aircraft in the military. Its early life gives it its reputation, but it’s actually a great aircraft. Source? I have more than a few friends who are crew chiefs on them from my time in the Marines.
I’ve also flown in them and do not hesitate to do so.

Anyway, flyovers of an enclosed stadium is freaking dumb.

As a former Marine, I would like the Faux-Patriotism displays to be discontinued! A flyover of a dome stadium is foolish & a HUGE waste of $$. The DOD also pays the NFL to perform the anthem & have that huge flag rolled out. How many fans at home do you know that stand & place their hand over their hearts(a salute by a civilian is inappropriate)? I know ONE! Hell, most, at the game, don't even stop talking, buying dome foam or in waiting in line at the head, during the anthem. Forget about the masses that don't even know the words(including the famous spectator today, who has already shown he doesn't).
A blimp over NOLA showing pictures during a game w/commentary is even more ridiculous.
Lighten up, IT WAS A JOKE!

You don't see us Air Force guys losing our sheet over the F-16 Lawn Dart! Long before its Viper nickname stuck, F-16A's earned the "Lawn Dart" nickname due to its pitot tube and its early on crashes.

My post had nothing to do w/your post, sorry if you took it that way. I stand by the waste of $ & fake patriotism of the military "tributes". Flyover of a dome is beyond ridiculous.

A friends son is an AF pilot that does the flyovers for the SEA games. The operating cost of each of those planes is insane. Depending on the plane it's $48k-$125k per hour!
