So Kiwi, how have the past 10 years been for you taking into consideration you worked for a couple of years in Belgorod, Russia not too terribly far away from a war-ravaged, decimated and deeply-fractured Ukraine whom Putin illegally invaded and now occupies 20% of the country?

How is Christchurch doing these days too? I hope any last remnant of the destruction and damage from those earthquakes in the area about 12-13 years ago has hopefully disappeared.

It’s been all good Saintman. The time spent in Russia I don’t regret at all. It was quite a unique experience, especially the arrest and interrogation by the FSB….
Christchurch is pretty much back after the earthquakes, but there are still a few condemned buildings awaiting demolition and reconstruction. The biggest issue is the Christchurch Cathedral. There were arguments between the diocese, insurers, and the city about the rebuild. Nothing happened for years and it was a real eyesore in the middle of the CBD. Work finally commenced two years ago but now it’s been suspended As they’ve run out of money! Regardless, Christchurch is a beautiful city with lots to see and do in the area. Fun fact - the US Air Force has a base here to support their Antarctic base.
