Maybe the Saints sneakily filled a real hole behind Kamara and Hill.

CEH is a 25-year-old Baton Rouge native, LSU star, and lifelong Saints fan with two Super Bowl rings and CFP national championship under his belt. He has 1st round pick talent, did a 1000 total yards in his rookie season, and appears to have a great attitude and work ethic. The man even won a heroism award for shielding a kid from being shot at a Super Bowl victory parade. IDK the background of what went wrong in KC but if coming home can help him be what Jamaal Williams was supposed to be -- a reliable do-it-all vet who can come in and average 4 yards a carry to spell and backup aging/injured Kamara and Hill, then he'd be a super valuable piece of the team found affordably.

Can anyone provide context what went wrong in KC?

From what I heard part of it was just that Pacheco emerged and he is probably better and cheaper. But, some of it apparently stems from when he was present in college when someone shot a robber while he was present. Apparently it caused PTSD and he has had trouble dealing with it. Some are speculating that being "home" may help him deal with it since he would have family and friends around to help him.

CEH should be able to help just by staying healthy. Our other backs seem to struggle with injuries and missing time in the backfield. If he can provide support as a serviceable running back, it would help the Saints a lot since the guys we have now have spent a lot of time on the sidelines.

Unfortunately, combined with the missing 2024 campaign, availability is not his strongest suit. Maybe this change can help him.

Hoping CEH can get the counselling, treatment, meds, etc. help he needs to overcome the PTSD because he can still be monster on the field if he can get "back to normal" as it were.

I have a cousin who had a similar experience a few years back, and another very good friend who suffers from it from his time serving in the military. It's no joke, and can be debilitating for days or even weeks at times. My friend now has a service animal who can sense when it's coming on (animals are amazing!), and he's able to take meds to stave off or at least greatly lessen the effects before they happen. My cousin got counselling and doesn't really have much trouble any more, but it was very harsh on him for quite a while.

I love the signing and although he's 25, he's a 25 y/o RB without a lot of wear and tear. My dream backfield in 2025 is Jeanty/AK/KM/CEH. That would be 2 guys with similar skillsets in both roles. RB1 Jeanty, the lead guy. AK the weapon. KM backup to AJ as the power back and CEH the backup to AK's receiving role. Having a deep backfield is key going forward with 17 game and future 18 game seasons.

If Taysom has one more year in him, it'd be killer, presuming Jeanty is supported by the 4 other guys, all with injury problems.

But you did point out something cool -- CEH, if he can play, is a hell of a remarkable and affordable 3rd or 4th string RB.

But Jeanty might be so good it won't matter. I don't expect him to be there unless we trade up.

He probably won't be. He started to not be available as much on the PFF mock simulators. He was available nearly every draft before the game vs Penn St, now he's gone more often.

Mild coincidence CEH is signed while Joe Brady is in the "cloud" of potential head coaching hires. If only it was all a video game, right? :)

Here's to CEH"s continued mental health recovery and to hoping he'll indeed be the contributor to the running back room we dream of.

he is the one who shot and killed the guy to save his teammate (and himself). then to top it off, during the Chiefs Superbowl parade last year, someone opened fire in the crowd and CEH shielded a child while it was happening..

Keep him on the roster and let him compete in training camp for a 2025 roster spot.

Love CEH, but not sure he will make the roster next year, I hope he does and I hope he gets the care he needs.....PTSD of any kind sucks....
