Medical reasons why Saints may have passed on RB Tyjae Spears (1 Viewer)

I’m not commenting on other RBs here, just staying on topic since this thread is about Spears. I believe he got an unfair shake leading right up to the draft but I’m happy for him that he still got taken in the 3rd. Titans got a great RB.

Medical evaluations are part of the process and teams would have had this information once his knee was examined weeks ago. You’re reacting to what fans learned in the days leading up to draft.

The information campaign affects the hive mindset that persists amongst NFL war rooms, make no doubt about it. Or else every year we wouldn’t be seeing PR campaigns pop up out of nowhere regarding players.

This can be a problem when it’s new information coming out. What I’m saying is his medical evaluation is information teams would have had for weeks. His stock didn’t suddenly plummet because the media and fans found out something teams already knew, it had already been adjusted when they understood the condition of his knee.

We all do and you're being worse about it.

And, Tulane people are supposed to be smarter anyway.
This seems to have sparked a lot of vitriol which I just don’t understand.

At this point it’s just beating a dead horse. There really isn’t much else to say on the matter.

Glad you finally realized that.
I was discussing the draft pick the night it happened because I was working night shift. I understand some found this troubling. New thread so figured I’d throw in my $0.02.

Vitriol?

Maybe if you back up a step and see what you've been saying you would understand why people are making a point of responding.

You started out saying the Saints were stupid for not picking the kid from Tulane.

Then you said it was odd and likely illegitimate rumor mongering about his medical condition as if it were some conspiracy.

You have continued to discount every rational explanation as some sort of morons refusing to see the next coming of Gayle Sanders if only a fandom full of people who feel burned by injuries in high risk draft choices could overlook the fact that kid has no knees.

It’ll be alright Bud. No point dwelling on it this much. We’ve got OTAs, camp, and preseason will be here before we know it.

Not sure what his social life has to do with anything…

I swear, that tweet put a whole scenario in my mind …

(Tyjae Spears at the club, checking out a fetching young lady at the bar)

“Hey — you must be from Tennessee because you’re the only 10 I see. Can I buy you a drink?”

“I’d love a drink, player. But I need to know one thing first …”

“Lay it on me.”

“Are BOTH your ACLs intact? And how about that cartilage—you don’t have no raggedy tore-up cartilage in your knees, do you? Do you?”

(Tyjae looks down dejectedly and walks back over to his friends’ table. His ‘friends’ spend the next 20 minutes clowning on him. Tyjae takes an Uber home, and gets to bed before midnight.)
