Eli Apple’s former team is out of playoff contention while his current team is favored to win Super Bowl LIII, and one of the cornerback’s new teammates is very happy about it.
After the New Orleans Saints’ win over Carolina on Monday night, wide receiver Michael Thomas gave Apple some props while taking a little shot at the New York Giants in the process.
“We had to get my boy up out of the Circus,” Thomas said in an Instagram story, “and get him around his folks so he can flourish. Proud of you bro we not never going back!”
The Giants are 5-9 entering Week 16 after losing seven of their first eight games and will miss the postseason for the sixth time in the last seven years.
New Orleans acquired Apple in one of the more high profile trades of the season back in October, when they sent the Giants a fourth round pick in the forthcoming NFL Draft and a seventh round selection in next year’s event. ...
