There's several mock drafts for 2013 that have atleast 5 of those 6 going in the first round, Mathieu being the odd man out. But if he has progressed in his man to man coverage from last year he's a first round talent, even at his height.

no thanks, i wouldnt touch mathieu in the first round at all. He is a very entertaining, highlight creating player but he is not a good pro prospect imo, hell he was the third best DB at LSU last year

Actually, he was the second best CB last year as a true Sophomore. Then again, the only corner better than him was the top corner taken in this years draft which means every single corner in this last draft would have been considered at best the 2nd best CB on LSU.

Many would agree with you not taking TM7 in the first round. After all, he wasn't even really a division 1 prospect coming out of high school because the scouts said he couldn't play there.

Since then he has just smashed records and is the definition of the word playmaker but maybe you are right, we don't need a playmaker on defense, just someone that is technically sound.

That's not saying much considering the amount of mocks out there. I'm an LSU fan, so I wish this were real, but unless they run the table, 5 will be a stretch. That said, I think Mingo, Montgomery, and Chris Fauk are all safe bets if they delcare.

Eric Reid is the top safety prospect going into next season. I really don't think 5 is a stretch unless some decide to stay for their senior seasons.

There's a difference between system quarterbacks and a all-around good qb

Lol geno smith is a system qb... And lsu realistically has 6-7 potential first round picks
1) Montgomery: amazing pass rusher fast as lightening
2) Mingo: read above
3) Mathieu: this guy has instincts matched by none always make a huge play will be a firs rounder. There is no better pure football player than him
4) chris Faulk: one of the top LT prospects in this draft mauling run blocker and quick on his feet
5) Eric Reid: protypical size and speed super smart can really lay the wood and plays the pass well easily the number 1 safety in this draft

6) Bennie Logan: disruptive penatrating dt always in the backfield strong against the run and can get to the qb
7)alex hurst: protypical RT HUGE.size really blows people off the ball not Many canshed a block from him
