My oldest is 16 and she went to see it with her friends, in part to preview it for our younger two. She said she liked it a lot more than she thought it would, but added that there were moments where it was too loud and uproarious for her. A 16-year old girl.

The stories coming out of viewings has me a bit worried that this will try to be replicated by other movies, other franchises? Inside jokes, memes, exploiting FOMO, etc. just to elicit viral reactions and audience participation in ways that actually detract or even endanger.

Is this going to be what my kids will expect from films going forward? Or maybe I'm just already in my Old Man on Front Porch Yells at Kids on His Lawn phase of aging. I've been to sing-along versions of movies in the theater, and I dig the audience getting into it. This isn't that, though.

The numbers that this thing is doing has blown my mind.
