Don't do it Notch!
I really don't understand Microsoft paying $2 Billion for Mojang.
First, Notch is a one hit wonder. He's basically said as much himself. It's a helluva hit and it's made him for life, but there is nothing to indicate he or Mojang have anything else to provide outside of Minecraft. He shelved that other game he was working on because he had no idea what to do with it, and Mojang's sole other output has been some mobile game that was most notable because it spurred a lawsuit from ZeniMax over the name "Scrolls."
And maybe that wouldn't be so bad, but they're talking about paying two billion for something that is quite certainly over the hill on its earning potential. The bulk of the Minecraft money that's ever going to be generated has been generated. It's still moving copies, but not to the point that a 2 billion dollar investment is going to be returned on in any meaningful way.
Can you imagine Minecraft on the Windows phone? 'Cos that would seem to be among MS best ideas to (re?)vitalize that brand.
They bought it to have the right to sell merchandise and to make new games based on the Minecraft IP. They will make other games based on the Minecraft universe or with Minecraft skins, much like the Lego games. They will be cheap to make and they will be able to sell them. It will destroy the simple joy of Minecraft, but they will make money.
Your worldview is frighteningly grim. You should smile more.
