If Lions win next week, Lions win tiebreaker over Vikes. If Lions had lost tonight.Someone help me out here because Troy and Joe have said multiple times the lions played this game hard even though they had nothing to lose and their big game was next week. Vikes are 14-2 and a loss would've put the lions at 13-3. The lions needed this game right to make next week important??
If it makes you feel any better I lost my championship in week 5.Lost my championship by 8 pts
While I won mine, I only won by 2 points. I had Burrow who got me 51 points, but me and my dumb arse changed defenses from Buffalo who had been spotty at best lately to the Colts who was up against the Giants with a playoff spot still on the line and that defense gave up 45 points to the Giants and finished with -4 points while the Bills defense scored 16.If it makes you feel any better I lost my championship in week 5.
Right...lions had to win tonight to force the tie breaker. A loss tonight and vikes would've been in the driver's seat?If Lions win next week, Lions win tiebreaker over Vikes. If Lions had lost tonight.
Lions didn't need to win tonight. Tonight's game didn't matter. If the Lions win next week, they finish ahead of Minny regardless.Right...lions had to win tonight to force the tie breaker. A loss tonight and vikes would've been in the driver's seat?
NO, If Det lost tonight and won next week both teams finish 14-3. Detroit would be the 1st seed due to tie breakersRight...lions had to win tonight to force the tie breaker. A loss tonight and vikes would've been in the driver's seat?
One team is going to be 14-3 and have to play their first game on the road. That's not fair Imo. Shades of 2010Yeah, the winner of the game next week will win the division, regardless of the outcome of this game. The only thing this game affected was who gets to be in first place this week.
I think, at least until the current 14 team format where only the one seeds get a bye, the Saints were the only team to win 13 games and not get a bye. Happened in both 2011 and 2019.One team is going to be 14-3 and have to play their first game on the road. That's not fair Imo. Shades of 2010
when we had to travel and play the 7-9 Seahawks on the road.

Maybe it was that they were the only 13 win division winners not to get a bye?Nah, '99 Titans went 13-3 and were bridesmaids for the 14-2 Jags. Also of note is that the '87 Saints likely woulda been another 13-3 wildcard team if not for the canceled week that year since the niner were 13-2 and we were 12-3.
Fun fact: That season, counting playoffs, the Jaguars were 0-3 against the Titans and 15-0 against the rest of their schedule.
Lastly, tonight's game wasn't 100% inconsequential, just very close to it. By winning, the Lions still get the 1 seed with a tie against the Vikings but the Vikings woulda gotten the 1 seed with a tie had the Lions lost. I have such a seething hatred for the Vikings that I'd love nothing more than to see them finish 14-2-1 just to have to go to Tampa and get smoked like a cheap brisket.
Maybe it was that they were the only 13 win division winners not to get a bye?
