Why come out of the end zone on that int?

Yesterday in our game on that good int return back to about the 30 I wanted the guy (I can't remember who it was that intercepted it) to go down in the end zone.. but then I had a flashback to when they screwed us earlier in the season and spotted the ball at the one instead of a touchback and I thought they might screw us again with a safety!
