Ahhh, yes. Lest we forget that defense wins championships. For example, our '09 team that won it all would've been merely a carbon copy of the '08 team (7-9) had they not bolstered the secondary and gotten all those turnovers.Indeed, we have no idea what the new staff will do during the draft. But we can be very, very sure that this forum will be lively shall we say, during and after the draft.
It’s interesting that the prevailing discussion on the board has been Ward, Dart, Sanders, Jeanty, Warren: offensive players. The defense last season was worse than the offense and less injured. Just throwing that out there…
Reason I'm fine with being resigned to a cornerback with the pick at 9 since Graham isn't too likely to fall to us. A corner like Johnson at 9 and another Mason -- Taylor, that is -- at 40 would be super-fine.
As for RBs, the middle rounds figure to be a good spot to find a good one, with how deep it is. One of the two guys from Ohio State might well be available there.
*sigh* So many needs, though, and only a few picks to help address them.
