On the NFC Championship game.
While knowing that our Saints were ROBBED of a almost certain trip to their second super bowl, I am more upset that now I will have a hard time believing any of our games aren’t preplanned by the NFL. How sad for us fans to think that no matter how good our team is, that the commish who clearly hates coach Peyton will continues to show him who can piss farther.
As a member of The Who Dat Nation for pretty much all my life, I have experienced some pretty miserable seasons. But I could always say “next year”. Now I’m not so sure. How can any of us know that we won’t be robbed again? Now i am not a season ticket holder that has invested thousands of dollars in our team and I cannot imagine how upset y’all are right now, it still hurts terribly. I am now left with the question of how I can, with the same enthusiasm, bond with my grandsons about my fandom when they get older. I don’t know, but I will never give up. I am still eating leftover gumbo. I hope by the time it’s gone, the hurt in the pit of my stomach will be as well.
Many will say “it’s just a game”, but to us Saints fans it’s week long excitement as we anticipate that game each week. It’s the empty place in our week when the team has that bye. It’s the preparation for the game by preparing our favorite “tailgating” food and of course the “drinks”. It’s the excitement of knowing we have the best quarterback to ever play the game.
I apologize for such a long post, but I am hoping this will be the therapy I need to eventually rid my body of this pain. If you are still reading, thank you for listening and I hope maybe it has helped you as well.
