No matter which coach is selected to lead this team, one thing is certain.......we must get better and younger. Say no to a Carr restructure to get cap compliant. The Saints do not have to cut him, but a restructure handcuffs him to the organization beyond 2026. Carr is not good enough for that. Use him as a bridge this year, but please, please do not extend him. Make the hard, but necessary decisions regarding older players. Moving on from some of our favorite players may not be popular, but for our long term success, it might haveta happen. Make decisions for our future.....especially regarding the salary cap. Let's not be in the worst cap shape out of the 32 teams for another year.

In free agency, let's stay within our budget and target young, up & coming players. Stay clear of older veterans that may still be very good, but on their last leg. No - 1 or 2 year deals on older players. We are not in a "win now" mode. Attack free agency to build solid depth. Think this coming season as a "growing pains" year. I don't care about the record. Just get better and younger. A push for prosperity can come in 2027 and beyond.

While it will never happen, consider trading back and stockpiling picks in the draft. We need to get better and younger. Hopefully, we get lucky and hit on several players. The only way out of this mess is with talented players. Coaching only takes you so far. Obviously, one key ingredient to getting relevant is to find your next franchise QB. That's easier said than done. I'm just praying we get lucky. Maybe we have a top pick in 2027 to land a superstar. Probably wishful thinking, but without that special QB, the Saints will never truly be contenders again.

Just don't continue the same ole same ole. That "win now" at all costs blueprint. That window is closed. Better and younger.......better and younger.....

We are 52 million over the cap. We will have to release players and restructure veterans, so don’t expect any big signings.

Wish we didn’t have to kick the bucket down the street once again! In Loomis do we really trust?

It’s going to take some luck, similar to what the Eagles had when they signed Baun to a cheap deal. Any obvious rising young star is going to get paid, and we likely won’t have the resources to afford them if we leave Carr’s contract untouched.

Agreed most with what's bolded. And while there's still time to coach up Rattler, it's still all about the QB in this league, even as the running game is currently enjoying a resurgence in pro ball. For example, the Commanders would've remained in the cellar without Jayden Daniels.

I can't see us signing anyone of substance, and we can't afford it anyway... Just build through the drafts and struggle the next 2-3 years to get cap compliant and reload.
