My Thoughts on Michael Thomas (just my opinion) (1 Viewer)

He could have been a Saint. All the Saints had to do was trade up a few spots in that draft, and nab a WR who was a perfect fit for Payton’s offense.
But no, we got Ruiz instead. I have never been so mad during a draft.
The saints had him Minnesota just wanted him more

I’d bring Mike back we just have to build an offense suitable to Carr not Brees. Throw Payton’s whole playbook out besides plays he likes ! Unless we draft a QB high in which case the OC installs his system and may the best man win

I'm fine going into next season with Olave, Saheed and Perry as the top 3 receivers. In any case, MT is no better than a #3 receiver at this point. If he's willing to take a pay cut, then maybe. But otherwise, he's not worth it.

I wish we had Payton's playbook.
We just have to accept that the past 2 seasons has been all Sneaky Pete.

This teams' problems go much deeper than Michael Thomas.
Regardless of where Michael Thomas falls in the power rankings of Saints' problems, I don't think it's unfair to suggest that someone who has barely played since game 1 of 2020.....and yet still finds unflattering ways to draw attention to himself....is, in fact, AN issue.

The OP portrayed him as this "Michael Jordan alpha dog", but Michael Jordan was able to handle his issues in ways that didn't involve going on Yahoo message boards in the latter '90s to make cryptic comments about others.

The Michael Thomas you speak of is a relic of a bygone era. I dont know what you saw, but I didnt see anything that resembled CGM. I didnt see a resurgence. I saw a WR that was slow and old. He moves like a tight end without the tight end durability. Brees couldve made him appear better than he was because of he precision passing, but youre talking about the most accurate passer in NFL history. Dalton isnt that guy. Its time to face the music that what he is, isnt what he was.

He wasnt the same guy this year. He has missed 47 games over 4 seasons. He shouldve been gone 2 years ago. He was historically great his first 4 years - but thats a long, long time ago in WR years. He is cooked as a NFL WR.

Michael Thomas was a great receiver for this organization at one time with a focus on the word was. His social media antics are what divides players against coaches and takes away from his once awesome career despite his injuries. I'm still patiently waiting everyday that the ESPN apps sends me a notification on my phone that DA is fired so a new coach can come in clean this garbage up.
Thomas is not the only current Saints player that needs to be considered for future employment with the organization.

14th out of 16 QBs that started 15 games so far this season = mediocre

Carr is 18th overall in on target rate (53%) for passes 10+ yards downfield (minimum 200 attempts). Dalton achieved better last year (13th overall at 57%), and its not like Carr’s 2022 numbers were anything for anyone to get excited about (finished 32nd overall at 47%).

Like you always say, who were we bidding against?
