My Top Choices for New HC if DA is Fired (1 Viewer)

Preferably a HC who is approved by the Manning family so it will be easier to draft and sign Arch in ‘26.

So we'd need to hire a really bad HC for the coming season - a coach who will only coach a win or two. Then fire him. If we hire a good HC or keep DA another season, I don't think we are seeing a top pick unfortunately.

Joe Brady Bills offense coordinator who has worked with the Saints before

Brady has connections to the Saints and LSU, gaining him some fan popularity, and he’s had periods of success, but it would seem like a much bigger leap of faith to turn over a franchise to him than some other candidates out there. Not sure he’s done enough to earn that level of trust.

Not exactly. You hire a great coach, but you give him reassurance that he won’t be one and done.

But if he's a great coach, he won't be in a draft position to draft Manning, that was my point.

Great coaches don't suck for a season to get a good draft pick.

Let’s see what happens when he loses Johnson. The biggest problem with hiring someone like Campbell is he’s always going to need great coordinators on both sides of the ball because he isn’t one.
I understand what you’re saying but that’s also not a bad thing. That gives the HC the ability to be a full time HC and direct his coaches. Let the OC & DC focus on their sides of the ball while the HC runs the show.

I would go offensive minded, non college coach.
Ben Johnson OC Lions
Johnson's not coming here. He declined DC with the #2 pick last year. This is not a top job, especially if we're picking where we usually pick, and Lucky is the GM.

I understand what you’re saying, I just don’t believe in it because as soon as you get a good OC, he’s gone. You saw how the national media was pushing for Kubiak to get a head coaching job after just two weeks of success with us. We need an offensive paycaller as head coach. There’s a reason why people are hiring from McVay and Shanahan.

It's bigger than the coach, Loomis needs to step down, and we need a new GM.
I think Loomis gets promoted to a higher exec position in the organization. I think Ireland has worn out his welcome.

Who ever we hire if and when we fire DA needs to be given at least 3 years to turn things around, we are that big of a mess right now
Don’t think this is true anymore. No one would question firing Allen at this point.

Agree. This is also why someone like Rizzi doesn’t work. Look at Sirianni in Philly. Loses two really good coordinators at once in Steichen and Gannon, hasn’t been able to replace and the whole things been bad since. You have to get someone who is at least very good at running their side of the ball.
