My Week 14 ratings (1 Viewer)

The Jets are the Falcons of the AFC.

They have skated by with help of the officials (see the Denver game) and teams handing them games (see the Lions, Vikings, Texans and Browns games).

Now they face a team that isn't going to hand them anything and we got what we were assuming all along about this team.

They are good, but that's about it.

Don't be surprised to see the Falcons get spanked by the Saints 3 weeks from now.

Where do you rank the Jets at now?

Oh and you should switch Atl and NO, just to save yourself from that "told you so" moment in a couple weeks.

Here's a reminder why the Saints should be ranked higher than the Steelers.

Man, I just realized that Meach has had the biggest offensive plays in our wins over the Steelers, Cowboys and Bengals.

Most of them on double moves for his first or second catch of the game. It's like Coach doesn't call any of Meach's plays until the defense has completely forgotten about him.

You can't bash the Falcons and Jets for being "lucky", but ignore the fact that Heaths fumble landing directly in Sharpers lap isn't the luck you got to win this game. Also, see Dallas game. Not saying the Saints didn't deserve to win but those two fumbles seemingly gave the Saints 2 wins.

Steelers fan,

Forcing a fumble isnt luck. It wasnt luck that caused those turnovers. Its what happens when a defense swarms and attacks.

exactly. also the bengals jumping offsides could be considered lucky as well

depends. when the game is in hand all roy has to do is cover the ball and he didn't, if he's fighting to make a play and win it and gets stood up and another payer rips it out tahts good D. when the WR is runnning for a score and alreayd has teh game won if he takes a knee but leaves the ball out there and gets stripped that could be called luck

I don't see it that way though. I see it as brees made a good fake for the offsides, and your DB made a good play to strip the ball.

Here we go with the "luck" discussion again. No.

In the Dallas game, forcing a fumble is not luck. Further, and even more importantly, the Saints had to go 88 yards in a little time to score a TD - a FG would not have done anything. Going 88 yards in a little more than a minute, and scoring a TD with the pressure of losing the game on your shoulders, is skill, all the way.

A Bengals player being fooled by the playcaller is not luck, again that's skill (on Brees' part), or lack of skill (on the Bengals' part). Still, we had to score points, and a TD in the redzone for the Saints this season, is not guaranteed, nor is a short FG.

Finally, I don't believe that the Falcons or Jets are getting by on "luck". I just think that sometimes, lack of explosion on offense and defensive break downs keeps games close against "inferior" opponents. And what happens when you face an explosive team that doesn't play small-ball with you? You get the ATL-PHI game, where the Eagles blew them back to Georgia, and you get the game last night, where the Pats shoved the Jets into a cannon and shot them back to New York. That's all.

45-3.......awesome. Pregame interview and Rex said the Pats were "concerned". I'm guessing maybe not as much as he should've been. This is something that's being overlooked this year. Experience counts for something when you're talking getting up for the big games. Pats went in knowing this was a big game and what to do. Jets went in knowing this was a big game and not sure what to do. Same is going to happen on the 27th.....experience counts.

Well. Mr. Declarer of Luck -- what part of last night's game do you attribute to luck? The fact that Ryan ran his mouth and gave the Pats plenty of incentive to not only defeat the Jets, but to humiliate them on national TV?

What I think is funny is Ryan helped hype up the game which surely resulted in even more viewers to watch his team's meltdown / beatdown. Of course, a lot of TV sets were turned by halftime since the Jets could not make it a competitive game.

Are you that lazy you didn't even finish reading a the post where i say

Really do yourself a favor and read the whole post before picking out 1 part and making a comment cause it makes you look really bad

Jets should be out of the top 10 after they were exposed as a paper lion last night. These are consistently the WORST rankings ever!

Why do people have such a hard time with what "luck" is? Any forced turnover is not luck.

For instance, and the best case of what's luck and what's not all in one little play. When ATL played SF and Clements tried to run the ball back instead of knowing the situation and going down, the fact that he didn't have the smarts to go down was lucky for the Falcons, but White running down the play and stripping the ball to get it bak for the Birds was not luck.

It's really not that hard.

There is no such thing as luck in the NFL period. there is good fortune or circumstance, but not luck. it isn't golf where you shank one into the woods but it bounces off the tree and lands in the fairway. Thats luick
