I know. My point is they were extremely patient with Peat. I also wouldn't expect them to be done with Penning yet. And I think that was the point you were making.

Agreed. It would have been nice for an excitement factor but those teams just sent draft picks for players that will also want large salaries soon. They are essentially renting them for draft capital.

Not a formula for sustainable success.

I still kinda wish the Raiders would just waive him at this point... he's clearly not in their long term plan, counts for 13M on their cap this year and the next and they're barely using him. I don't think we 'need' him but I think he could be useful as a wr4 in the slot. Could be wrong but I get the feeling Carr has been pushing us to get him. I'd bet he will be cut after the season at the latest and we'll try to sign him then.
