I don't pretend to know of all the rules because I don't. I have always thought the defense could pretty much run around like a banshee with their hair on fire as long as they don't cross into the neutral zone or shout out numbers or try to get the center to hike the ball. Just because the offense is "set" and the QB is in his cadence doesn't mean diddly.

Are blitzing linebackers suppossed to just freeze in their tracks because the QB is in his cadence? Of course not and the defensive line is not restrained either.

Steelers need to quit whining and learn to focus on the snap count.

The rules are clear. Intentionally trying to draw offensive linemen offsides is against the NFL rules. Brady has complained about it before, SR members are complaining about it now.

It's in the headlines right now.

In 2012, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct under the rule against disconcerting signals for shifting their entire field-goal block unit in an attempt to make the New Orleans Saints false start.

In 2010, Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Antonio Johnson was flagged for calling out signals as the Tennessee Titans snapped on an extra point. Three weeks before that game, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady screamed at officials after a kneeldown play, saying a Colts player was saying “hut, hut” in the middle of his snap count.

Shifting is one thing. Intentionally using the cadence, from the defensive side, to try and draw offensive linemen offside - is quite simply against the rules.

I'm not trying to get personal, I meant no disrespect to you. My comment about tin foil hats was only to reflect on the entire "Patriots are cheaters" conspiracy.

I say conspiracy, because besides Spygate - there is no actual proof of any wrong doing. This organization is labelled as cheaters, based on what exactly?

Nothing but hearsay and unsubstantiated evidence. As fans of a team who has been railroaded by this exact same deceitful organization, and I am just shocked that most Saints fans seem to almost forget this happened to us.

Just because the NFL said it - simply does not make it true. Again, it seems like we have forgotten what we have been through. My natural instinct is to defend ANY TEAM against the false accusations of the No Fun League.

As far as the rule - again - the offense controls the cadence. So you are saying, that because big ben was using the same cadence the entire game, and the patriots knew the timing of it, that they cannot shift?

This is absurd to me. The QB has ALL THE POWER. If you have people guessing your cadence, that is when you give them the hard count and draw them offsides. or better yet, get them to take a false step, lose their balance, and then snap the ball in that split second they are not ready.

UNLESS - they were actually screaming "hutt hutt" I just don't see the issue. I mean, the Patriots had a huge hole right where the Steelers where about to run. They moved their players to protect this gap. - Isn't that the entire point of this game?

So they timed his cadence. If they would have all blitzed on the timing of his cadence it would have been considered an amazing play and great timing.

It's like every week, we see more and more accusations of cheating, and they are getting thinner and thinner.
