"John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have offered their first-round and fifth-round draft picks in next year's NFL Draft to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for DL Jared Allen. The proposed deal could also include Buccaneers DL Jovan Haye, according to ESPN's Michael Smith."

Jared Allen, is a good player but not worth that much. I would like it, since the Bucs would be losing their 1st round pick, and a talented player in Haye.

Believe it or not Allen is one of the best DE's in the league...he creates turnovers. He's pretty young too, I'm sure they wouldn't have to give up that much though!

Jared Allen is very good. I think he is worth #20 overall and a fifth. He is a great pass rusher and they would be scary off the edges with him and Gaines Adams.

Allen had 15.5 sacks last year in 14 games! That would be terrible for us! And he's still young.

No way KC will trade Allen. It would take at least two first round picks because KC loves him.

I'm sort of impartial to this happening. I think them giving up their 1st round selection this year could be a good thing. Their defense is aging and it looks as though they are looking to shore it up, but their offense needs a lot of help too. I don't think Garcia is going to last much longer in this league, he's almost as old as Farve and he's much smaller. Although they have a stable of QBs behind Garcia, none seem to be that good.

I don't want them to get better at DE, but at the same time, they really need to get younger and this would cost them two picks. I would love for Allen to get here and flop and cost them a ton in salary cap and two picks, but Allen looks like a gamer, so that probably wouldn't happen.

Again, I'm sort of impartial to this one because I can see this as going for OR against them.

The Bucs also better be careful because Allen is one strike away from a one year suspension in the NFL Drug and Alcohol Program.

Jared Allen is only 26 and is much better than any unproven player they can take at #20.

If both picks are next year, thats a 2nd and 5th rounder (value wise) for Jared Allen. KC would have to be high to accept that offer.

Exactly... Take the Bucs to the cleaners if they want Allen. Demand the #1 this year and at least a conditional high pick next year that could turn into a #1 if thresholds are met.

Jared Allen is a Beast, this would be bad for the saints....

It will; however, potentially make KC take a DE....

then they trade with us for #10 and we swap picks.... GEt Ellis

The Chiefs, who have dangled franchise DE Jared Allen on the trading block, remain a strong candidate to make a move down. Carl Peterson's right-hand man Billy Kuharich, who formerly called the shots with Mike Ditka in New Orleans and helped make one of the biggest blockbuster moves in NFL history when he traded the Saints' draft for the right to select RB Ricky Williams, still has strong ties to the Saints' organization and is well-positioned to help arrange another deal. With many pressing needs to fill, the Chiefs are looking to acquire multiple picks and are very interested in moving down in the draft order, so much so that they are considering a move to deal their marquee defensive star, who remains a couple of beers away from a lengthy NFL suspension.
