N/S: How excited are Chargers' fans over Meachem? How about a thread that is over 80 pages long? (1 Viewer)

Well when rivers throws him a perfect pass and it somehow gets bobbled into a defenders hands then their opinion will quickly change.

I guess we are about to find out if our system was holding Meachem back from elite production. Or if he just isn't the receiver we hoped he would be.

If Meech had hands like Colston then he would be elite. But still Meech is a pretty dang good receiver with burners.

Guess we will find out how good Meech is with Rivers tossing him the pig skin.

Please, no Drew Brees highlight videos. It hurts too much.

Pretty sure he'll be really productive for the Chargers, you can expect 1,000+ yards and 8+ TDs. He was a huge playmaker for us, and he'll only shine more given a bigger role. I wish him the best.

The topic interested me, so I clicked the link....

I randomly went to page 53 and stopped reading at page 59.

The Charger fans don't seem real excited about Meachem. In fact, he is being slammed pretty good. They can't get over Lance "freakin" Moore have better stats last year. Or that the Saints went hard after 7th round pick Colston, but let 1st round pick Meachem walk.

I liked Meachem's ability to streach the field in New Orleans and think he'll be a quality #2 receiver in San Diego.

Well, it only took them 15 pages for someone to finally say he was N.O. 3rd reciever behind Colston and Henderson, they all thought he was #2...For some strange reason, they all think Graham is a WR....:hihi:

A lot of times Rivers throws the ball up hoping/allowing his receivers to go up and get the ball. We'll see if that's something that Meach can do.

He's should have gone to Philly. He'd be the perfect guy to wrestle balls away from defenders after vic throws the ball to the other team.

They will love him when Rivers throws a pick and he strips the DB and runs it in for a TD.

I'm not going to read all 80 pages, but I do wonder how many of the posters spelled his name correctly. :hihi:

Remember how long it took Meach to learn the offense? It was the first NFL redshirt, I ever saw. He catches with his body and runs like he's on rollerskates.

However, the flaws end there. He is pretty fluid on deeper routes where he is not asked to gather up too much and he has pretty good top end speed. He also doesn't give up on a play. I think he'll do just fine with Rivers at QB and more opportunities that the SD offense should provide for him. I'm not putting him on the preseason pro bowl ballot for this year because of his long learning curve, but I think he'll be fine there.
