N/S: John Fox's Tebow Gaffe (1 Viewer)

Ross tucker on nfl radio basically called a caller an idiot for saying tebow was a "winner" and it was a completely valid point. The caller said "he won in high school, he won in college, all he does is win." Ross said something to the effect of (paraphrasing) "of course he won in high school and of course he won in college. He's in the nfl. People drafted to the nfl have won all those games because they are better than the others they played against which is why they ended up in nfl.". It was such a blatantly obvious statement once Ross made it that it was almost funny.

Jay Cutler lost in College.

Tebow on any other team would be that guy that you put in at quarterback after your first 3 get injured... and you hope the 2 or 3 times he does throw the ball, he can get it within 10 yards of his receiver.

Volumes of hatred speaks volumes of the haters. If he's really that terrible why waste the time? Are you trying to convince yourself that he's that bad? He is an athletic unconventional QB with charisma and favor that garners wins. His coach obviously needs to do a better job of speaking wisely and being aware of a thing called morale. I do believe there was a young Denver coach (McDaniels) that liked to cause dissension...
Tebows God given gifts are making room for him, like it or not.

It's 3 games, let's see if he makes it to 10 wins. Just because their coaches manage to wrestle out wins out of thin air doesn't make Tebow a good qb. It just makes the coaches good (and the opposing ones somewhat bad).

I'm sure Fox has said the same thing right to Tebow. It's the truth. I heard a different quote on the radio from Fox where he sounded amazed at what he has seen, so far, out of Tebow. It's sort of fascinating to see how long he can keep it up.

Sure we can. 2/8 for 69 yards and a TD over an entire game is quite terrible.
99 times out of 100 those stats result in a loss, unless of course we're talking about football 70 years ago.

Tebow is on borrowed time as a starter.

The worst part about the Tebow argument is that the antagonist act like he is a finished product. This guy is basically a rookie.

Will he not improve? Will he not work as hard as anyone to do so? How many years did it take for Vick to be considered an actual QB and not just a runner?

Don't you guys think you're jumping the gun just a bit here?

Who has been worse???? Gabert, Ponder or Tebow?

The guy has won 3 out of 4 games. Please find me a single NFL team that wouldn't be happy with that. He has taken his team from the "Andrew Luck bowl" to playoff contender. It's pretty ignorant to say he is terrible. They bench their starting QB, trade their Pro-Bowl WR for nothing, AND THEN win 3 out of 4.

Unconventional does not equal bad. 3 and 1 record, 8TD's to 1 int...... Hard to fault him if they aren't calling pass plays.

Plus, the guy has 7? NFL starts....Last time I checked Manning set the NFL record for most INTs his rookie season, he turned out ok. I'm not saying he is going to be great or even good, but you guys are ridiculously judgmental....

Tebow has the "it" factor, that doesn't go away and that doesn't get taught. All other aspects CAN BE TAUGHT.

Yep, he reminds me of Vince Young his rookie season. Vince Young looked like a teenage girl going through puberty throwing the ball left handed but he won games. He relied on a very good running game and a very good defense to win. The Titans that season beat a bunch of bad teams and lost to the good ones. They were a first round exit from the playoffs after scoring only 6 points. That season the Titans defense held opposing teams to 14 or less points 10 times. The Titans won 8 of those games. In the titans 6 losses they did not score more than 20 points once. Only two games all season did the Titans allow 20 points and win, one of those game Collins was QB. The second Young had 102 yards passing and the Titan's defense and special teams scored 14 of the teams 23 points.

Tebow has led the Dolphins to 3 wins in the last 4 weeks against 3 teams that have losing records and all three teams are playing without their starting QB. The one team they did play with a winning record ran them out of the building 45-10 and that team had been struggling of late.

Dilfer won 15 games in a row. Manning hasn't done that. Brees hasn't done that. Is he better than either of them?

So is winning games the ultimate be all/end all quantifier of QB play in the NFL?

Don't be ridiculous. They can't call pass plays with him at QB. He misses wide open receivers by 10 feet on a regular basis.

some of these responses are killing me about Tebow... dude hasnt won a game straight up.. The wins that he has gotten have come against the raiders where special teams and defense should get the credit and the Cheifs where he threw a total of 8 passes and only completed 2.. I could hand the ball off if thast all it takes for a QB to get credited for a win... RIGHT NOW dude is terrible, and is nowhere remotely close to what Vick was doing his rookie year.
