Doesn't matter, NFL loves the Broncos, we watched Payton get magic calls for the broncos all season. He was right, NFL won't fork over the Waltons the way they do the Bensons.
Well the Saints are still getting consistently bad calls against them without Payton. Need to amend that conspiracy. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that the NFL has been trying to get Payton out of New Orleans for a long time, and he just got tired of Godell.
I think it was more that the league made it clear that Payton isn't winning another SB in New Orleans. So he rode it out with Drew and then "retired" to get out.The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that the NFL has been trying to get Payton out of New Orleans for a long time, and he just got tired of Godell.
The league had nothing to do Loomis’ cap mismanagement. This team has zero depth thanks to the cap situation. And Loomis 100% owns that.I think it was more that the league made it clear that Payton isn't winning another SB in New Orleans. So he rode it out with Drew and then "retired" to get out.
OK, but we are not talking about Loomis or the cap, we talking about the League and their officiating. The league had nothing to do Loomis’ cap mismanagement. This team has zero depth thanks to the cap situation. And Loomis 100% owns that.
Doesn’t make sense.Doesn't matter, NFL loves the Broncos, we watched Payton get magic calls for the broncos all season. He was right, NFL won't fork over the Waltons the way they do the Bensons.
We watched Payton go from never getting calls and replays go his way with the Saints to getting magical calls and obvious replays(that should have failed) go his way with the Broncos. You can continue to "not believe" Payton. But we've seen it live.Doesn’t make sense.
The Saints were still getting 5 plus national games during Payton’s run.
The ratings were still high.
Why would the League do everything to cripple a team they were putting on national TV so much at the time?
