Anyone else see this clip on ESPN? I could be way off the mark here as I don’t know anything about the situation or thoughts of players and family. However something strikes me very odd here. I almost have a feeling like this kid got lured by some very bad people (advice) to stay there in Florida and his mother knew it was no good. Almost like she knew that he will never make it to his potential. I would say she just wanted him to go to a sure fire winner like Alabama but she also had a Tennessee hat on so that can’t be he case. I sure hope this kid didn’t get pushed in the wrong direction for someone else’s gains only to get forgotten about once everything goes south. And like I said, I could be way off in my judgement.

Feel bad for the kid looks like mom was ****** . Hopefully he made the right decision

The guy interviewing him really didn't wait long to jump on the opportunity to put this 18 year kid on the spot huh?

You should always be willing to tell your close family the truth if you think that they are making a bad choice.

But you keep that in-house. No need to humiliate your son, even if you do think that he's making a huge mistake.

I share the OP's caveats about not knowing all the details, but this woman reminds me of other parents I know--it has to be all about them all the time. Biggest day of your son's life? Just another day for you to make a big scene.

If I never hear another person say that they're "taking their talents to __________" again it'll be too soon.

Wow, incredibly selfish and rash on his mother’s part.

The guy from ESPN asking the kid "Why did your Mother leave...are there any problems?" was way out of line. They did show the Mother coming back and hugging her Son.

I don't have a problem with that. While I think we absolutely, 100% do put too much onto these kids in general and fans treat them poorly (Twitter death threats, etc)...if you're going to announce on live TV for the attention, then you should be open to being questioned about the events that unfold. Hopefully the kid will take it the "right" way though.

i'm just going to believe that Key & Peele are coming back and this is one of their skits (the could behind the kid HAVE to be actors)

To take away from your son’s big moment is as selfish as can be. Your child just accepted a full paid scholarship to attend college, be thankful.

Let's see if she walks out on him when he gets drafted in 3 or 4 years and signs that multi-million dollar deal.

Why would you assume the bad people are at Florida?

I would be more likely to assume that by not choosing Bama or UT, mama isn't getting some "perks".

After all, it was mama who walked out and showed up the big moment.
