N/S Patrick Mahomes sr arrested for DUI in Texas (2 Viewers)

Yeah, but that’s two seperate things.. the person who continues to get dui’s for sure has issues, and should seek help to try and fix them.. but in re to the legal system- one person’s trauma or psychological issues doesnt give them the right to get behind the wheel while drunk or buzzed when my family uses the same roadways…. So yeah that person should be getting help, and also the legal system should have extremely harsh consequences for someone who is a repeat dui offender in order to keep them from hurting or killing other innocent people.. both things are true .

Yeah, there are multiple issues here and I was referring to the alcoholism.

I seem to remember growing up in Louisiana that there were plenty of people with that many DUIs still driving and not in jail. Might not be just a Texas thing.
It’s not. I moved to Napa Valley when I was 21 years old. I didn’t drink, but everyone I met had 3 DUIs minimum and still drove some how. In fact, they would joke about it and tell me that I wasn’t “official” until I got my 3rd DUI🤣🤣🤣
I’m now 45 years old and never had 1🔥

Yeah at this point it’s beyond excusable. His son is worth like half a billion dollars or some stuff, he can afford a driver.
Im willing to bet that with the NFL’s “you drink we drive” program, that it would be extended to Pat Sr, if his son requested a ride for him. He’s the face of the league. Can’t imagine that they would tell him no.

Same same.. It’s flukish and pure luck that i never got one in my younger days; i drank and drove more times than i can count… but id like to think that if id gotten even one, I would have tried to straighten up and fly right .. and i also think that if i had gotten multiple DUI’s then i would have deserved whatever consequences came my way .

These days i rarely drink, and havent had so much as a sip of beer and then gotten behind the wheel in almost 20 years.. im thankful i saw the handwriting on the wall when i did .

Who’s the other one?
CJ Stroud. But one should really read the facts that Coleridge Stroud (the dad) stipulated to (that is, agreed to legally) in the opinion below, plus his earlier priors, before concluding, erroneously IMHO, that Coleridge Stroud should not be in prison. He's been convicted multiple times of violent crimes against complete strangers, plus sexual battery.

I don't get why more people with money don't get drivers.
DUI's in Texas can cost tens of thousands of dollars. He could easily spend this on rehabilitation, or like you said, paying for a driver/ride sharing service. The man needs help, however the state needs to lay the hammer down with harsh punishment along with mandatory rehab as a part of his sentencing so that there is a lesson hopefully learned.

As others have said, the alternative is for him to post bond, get wasted, and possibly kill someone.

Not to speculate, but from his pictures he looks like he's lived a fast life. As an ex-MLB pitcher, he's seen his fair share of parties. As others have said, he probably needs serious rehab.

Supposed to be 3 strike law and mandatory prison time. Unfortunately, I knew of a few people with a lot of money who bought their way out. One did 30 days in County for his 5th DWI. Should have been 3-5 years I believe.
