  • No. 6 Illinois over No. 3 Kentucky
  • No. 2 Alabama over No. 7 Saint Mary's
  • No. 4 Maryland over No. 12 Colorado State
  • No. 6 Ole Miss over No. 3 Iowa State
  • No. 2 Michigan State over No. 10 New Mexico
  • No. 5 Oregon over No. 4 Arizona

The final perfect bracket can be has been broken with Illinois’ loss to Kentucky. It was bound to happen.

Absolutely a travel... no doubt about it. They miss that call a LOT.

I think in the college game, they're much better about calling travels - though I think it can be difficult to always see it. But it's wild that he could travel like that to win the game. It was dramatic and it was all that March Madness is about - except that he clearly traveled, right across the lane when everyone was looking at him. And that extra step gave him separation.

The rules analyst (Gene Steratore) on CBS said that it's not a travel because in the first step, Queen is "gathering up the ball" and the rules say that the first step doesn't start until the player has control. I don't think that applies when the player (a) already has control via the dribble and (b) doesn't lose control based on a defender. Here, Queen did indeed mishandle the ball coming off the dribble but the defender didn't cause that - he did it on his own. You don't gain a step because you slightly mishandle the ball off the dribble.

The problem with such calls during March Madness is that there's no tomorrow for the team that got shafted by that finish. It either needs to be an infraction or not. Colorado State and their fans can't be too happy about the no-call.
