I’ve been seeing a real defeatist attitude in this forum the last few weeks leading up to this new season. If you looked around and read the posts on here, you might as well forfeit the Titans game and maybe the season… we are just so “worried”

You know what I’m worried about? This board, this community that seemingly has lost its confidence and swagger. A year removed from an abysmal season and we just up and feel like we aren’t going to beat mediocre teams at best. We forget about the talent of this team based on one bad season. Talent that executed and lead the Saints to be one of the winningest teams in the last 12 years.

We gotta get our minds right. We gotta stop argueing. Kick off is here and it’s US vs everyone else. Simple as that. This is OUR Team. Leave the talking head garbage to the garbage talking heads and let’s get this right, it’s 2023 and This Season is full of opportunity to Succeed. And I’ll be damned if I continue to come on here and hear about how much better other teams see than us.

I expect us to win every game and bring that energy. This forum used to have this swagger too. Get. It. Back. These are OUR boys and it’s time to believe in them to succeed every step of the way! If they falter there will be time for the tears, but as of now let’s band together and bring that optimism and energy and cheer this team on to do GREAT THINGS IN 2023!!!

as they say… WHO DAT!!?

You bring good sentiment, but personally, I’m being cautious with my fandom. While I think we can compete, I have to remind myself that DA is our head coach, and that we lost a game to a QB whose stat line was 43 yards/2 INT.

I’m curious about the game today, the way the team comes out, win or lose, will determine much of my outlook for the season.

Last season was tough to endure ,i have faith in the fo & players to do a much better job this year
Otherwise ,we'll have to find a new coach really fast

I'm so ready for this championship run that I woke up at 5 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep!

The 2023 Saints are going to be special. IDK why, but I just feel it.

Who Dat? No team!

I was thinking about posting something about the worrying defeatist attitude from fans on this board, I’m glad you called it out because I saw the same thing. Bravo sir 👏 I couldn’t have said it better than your post.

I sure hope your "feeling" is spot on.

I am a bit concerned that if our defense has trouble stopping the Titans run game, the outcome will be bad. On the other hand, if the D succeeds in limiting Tennessee's ground game, the Saints WILL win.

Shrug, at the risk of sounding overly diplomatic, there's valid reasons for concern (DA, the offensive line, the revamped DL), and hope (the TE room, Williams should be a better RB to pair with AK41, an improved receiving corps in general, weak schedule).

Before the season starts, whether you're an optimist or a pessimist, I'd just hope you'd have the humility to acknowledge you might be wrong because we don't know yet (personally I think a division title is certainly within the realm of reasonable possibility). And while some of the arguments devolve into silliness and pettiness, the forums would be pretty boring if every post was "Yay Saints! Surely this will be a great season!"

I think we're going to have trouble stopping the run. I think our run game will be limited. But, I think our passing game is going to light them up.

If your not fired up and excited and expecting The Saints to go out and execute and be successful, and if your not hopeful for that and trust in the new season I don’t know what the definition is, but it isn’t fan. If folks are that unconfident in the team, I wouldn’t define that sentiment as being a fan.

Have trust, have faith in the new season and as I said earlier if we falter, there’s plenty of time to dissect it later. For now, it’s time to bring that big energy to a new season and see what we can do!

We gonna turn some heads today one way or the other!

it definitely helps that andy dalton is not the starting. The second half of the season he was awful

This!!!

DA is no longer under Sean Payton’s umbrella like he was last season. It’s his show and his reigns. He had the team fired up towards the end of the season last year and looks like he has them hyped up now. It’s going to be a great season!!

WHO DAT!!

I disagree wholeheartedly: being a fan doesn’t equal blind faith. It means win or lose, you root for your team.

I or any fan, gets to be demanding of better from the team, within reason. We put, after all, our emotions somewhat in their hands. But equating pessimism grounded in well-founded arguments and proven facts with a lack of fandom is fallacious thinking and wrong.
