I'm excited and hopeful but with a good amount of realism.

Yeah, the "not a real fan unless you think we're a playoff team every season" attitude has always baffled me.

Yeah, the "not a real fan unless you think we're a playoff team every season" attitude has always baffled me.

yeah, the whole I think im a fan but take a measured approach so I can criticize the bad without ever letting myself look like I care about the team baffles me. Never said we have to be a playoff team. Its ok to be optimistic

Yeah, people, optimists and pessmists alike, wouldn't be posting here if they didn't care about the team. I wouldn't have been at the Dome yesterday screaming myself hoarse if I didn't care about the team. Blind unquestioning optimism isn't a prerequisite for fandom. And it's very silly (and convenient) to think the only authentic fans are the ones who approach it the exact same way you do.

I think that some of the pessimistic attitude falls on the shoulders of what happened in the Sean Payton era. Bounty gate, godells vedentta etc has taken some of the steam of the team I think.

I hope things are different this year. Good to see Carr fired up.
