Is it possible we're not the worst offense the divison? Or the best D?

Bucs have played 1 less game. Saints D is the best in the NFCS. We have the worst play caller of the division and that includes Smith.

Also, Ridder should have started by mid season last year.

Forgot about the Bucs having their bye already.

There's something like 10 teams that score fewer points per game than we do.

The board is overly dramatic about our underperforming offense.

While we do have the talent to be much better than we have been so far this season, our offense if not even close to being the worst in the league.

That's scary. I've been ragging on the level play around the League but didn't realize it was this bad. But then again I rarely watch anything other than the Saints.

in 5 of the 6 games they have played, the Giants have not scored a single offensive touchdown. Daboll is supposed to be some Offensive prodigy. They just big Paid Daniel Jones.

We are complaining about Dennis Allen and what we are paying Derek Carr, and just do not realize how much better we have it than some teams.

There are 8 teams worst than us for ppg. Only 13 teams average less than 20ppg. That's your list of teams who won't make the playoffs except for the NFCS winner (4 teams) and maybe a AFCN WC (3 teams except Balt). The 20-21ppg teams (DEN, Minn, CHI) leave only Minn as a maybe. That's the bottom 16 of the league right now. The Chargers are an exception for ppg and standings due to division and coaching.

NE and NYG are horrid right now with no future in sight.

You’re right, turns out we’re doing great! /s

Sarcasm aside, as fans we can and should demand more than being better than the bottom feeding teams of the league.

Atlanta, New England and the Giants are the only three teams that have fewer points per drive than the Saints. Points per drive takes out defensive scores and ignores drives that were ended with a kneel or running plays prior to a half. This just leaves the real offense. What it doesn't account for is starting field position. I don't have those stats but it sure feels like our average starting position has been quite good given our turnover margin and defensive play. Translation, our offense sucks.

You can also break it down to points per play. Compare our current numbers to 2022 season numbers and we have a really bad offense. It gets even worse at home where we are about 10 deviations below the next worse team and sitting dead last. We are really, really bad.

Good news, we really can't get much worse offensively and if we fix our redzone issues we can climb much closer to average.

Bad news, we can't expect different results with the same actions. Something has to change in order to expect different results. We changed a lot of personnel this offseason. Now we need to change the play calling. If that doesn't work then we need to cut the tree down and plant a new one.
