NFL gave Vilma a sworn affidavit from Gregg Williams stating Vilma offered $10k to knock out Favre (2 Viewers)

This whole situation is a joke. You have Williams signing an affidavit four days ago after this whole thing has been in court for a while and players punished. You have the Cerrullo affidavit which contradicts what williams affidavit states. They have no evidence. Their key "evidence" is a former disgruntled employee who deserved to be fired and a former coach who is on an island alone, not backed by a union, and if he ever wants to coach in the nfl again better do as the commissioner says, including signing an affidavit four days ago. Both of williams and cerullo have a clear bias for their affidavits/statements. Williams is terrified he will never coach anywhere including pee wee football and cerullo is biased because the saints cut him loose. The NFL will have to present real "evidence" when this goes to a court and two people with a clear bias towards the nfl will not stand. Where are all the player affidavits of the the players who were present when the money was allegedly put down? They don't exist and the NFL is making the evidence as it goes along. Believe the judge will see through this when it goes back to court.

Mike and Mike has their show devoted to this now. NFL attorney up now.

More he said/she said.

I swear that is what he said. Anybody else hear this?

He's speculating. Attorney that came on afterward said he "doubted any player affidavits exist..." [against Vilma] That it would break the 'us vs them' aspect of team.

Wish one of the Mike's would have asked the NFL's stooge who wrote Gregg's affidavit and if the NFL suggested, promised, or threatened Gregg that his reinstatement would be conditioned on him signing it.

Could Gregg be the scapegoat for the NFL? I am just thinking of this from a different angle. The NFL desperately needs an out, a way to keep a positive public perception. So you what do you do, place the blame of the lie on the one man no one trust already. The true goat. The NFL will play this game that they have evidence from GW to justify their claims and punishments. It will then come out that Williams was lying and the NFL will place the lie on GW, exonerating them from being the bad guy in the public eye. The NFL will then reinstate GW next year for playing ball and getting them off of the hook.

GW is the fall guy and he will get his job back for it.

You need to listen more closely then; it was clearly speculation on CC's part.

Well whoopytdoo. Did YOU Hear it big guy?? Are yOU even listening to Mike and Mike and trying to contribute or just throwing darts? I still content he said it. Now take that {mod edit - :nono: do not insult other members per the site guidelines - kd}.

Not only am I listening, but also watching it on TV.

Name-calling? That's mature.

Notice the NFL's stooge totally ignored Mike Golic's question about GW stating, in the affidavit, that the PfP had no intent to injure.

"Mumble mumble......that's what they intended to do...."

Vilma's going to be able to use that part of affidavit in court.

Really?

So I count 8 players still on the team from 2009:

Vilma
Shanle
Smith
Greer
Harper
Ellis
Jenkins
Casillas

I know for sure that Vilma, Smith, Harper, and Casillas have either testified or provided an affidavit. So it's one of the remaining 4?

Vilma and Smith are obvious. All the LBers have them, so Shanle and Casillas are out. Same goes for the DL. So that leaves the secondary, which I doubt.

Every time we fight with each other over this, it makes Goodell smile.

I'm sure the NFL wrote it, and that's not all that unusual. I've been a part of investigations before, and I was asked numerous questions. A few days later, I was asked to return to the investigators, and they had a declaration typed up, stating what I had told them. I was asked to read it and sign it, if it was accurate. If not, I was to tell them what was wrong so they could rewrite it.

As for the second part, that would be a waste. There's no way that anyone in the NFL would admit to promising or threatening Williams, so why bother asking?
